Special Thanks & Dedication
Many Thanks to Singer/Coaches: Cathy Segal-Garcia, Paulette McWilliams, and with great loss for Lori Donato who gave her musical pizzaz but departed too soon December 15, 2019.
Dedicated to my Uncle Woog, William Frederick Hummel, Jr., a real rocket scientist. 12/26/1922 – 07/19/2020. Dinners at his kitchen table, memories, humor, love of music remind me of my mother. His story of The Artie Shaw Band playing at his senior prom is a jazz lovers’ delight.

Biography
“Her voice is one that conveys tenderness and acute awareness to melody, harmony, and the essence of each song. She lures you into the tune gently and convincing. I was oblivious to the hustle and bustle of the surrounding crowd as Patrisha Thomson gave a wonderful gift of standards, ballads, and original pieces to an attentive crowd.”

Los Angeles’ BrooWaHa newspaper
At the age of twelve, Patrisha Thomson heard Count Basie’s One O’ Clock Jump pouring out from a music store. “In that moment I knew this sound was me, and I would write songs expressing the same joy, but with contemporary lyrics.”
Classic jazz singers such as Billie Holiday, Anita O’Day, and Sarah Vaughan have influenced her music, along with contemporaries Ann Hampton Callaway and Dianne Reeves. Listeners will also hear a touch of musical theater in her voice. Her childhood favorites are West Side Story, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and Porgy & Bess.
Performing regularly with arranger/pianist Steve Rawlins, Café Laurent in Culver City, CA has been their Jazz Brunch home since 2006.
On her debut CD, That Old Feeling, Rawlins wears several hats: musical director, arranger, co-producer, and pianist. Patrisha has been honored to have three other equally seasoned musicians for this album: Paul Morin on bass, Gordon Peeke on drums, and soloist Tom Peterson, doubling on flute and sax. These performers have extensive credits, having arranged and/or performed with many prominent vocalists such as Steve March-Tormé, Bette Midler, Chaka Kahn, Natalie Cole, and the big bands of Woody Herman and Benny Goodman, including Tom’s 17 years with Doc Severinsen’s NBC Tonight Show Orchestra.
Patrisha also has had a varied history in the arts. In addition to singing, she is an accomplished visual artist and teacher.
That Old Feeling is dedicated to her late father, John A. Thomson, and to the time they spent working together in the decade prior to his passing in November of 2011 at the age of 100 years.
Her albums are available for purchase on itunes, and Amazon.
